Mentoring Programs
Mentoring programs are widely used and can have significant benefits. Organizations spend significant money and time designing and implementing them. However, many are not sustainable or do not produce the return on investment that was expected.
Corporate EQ has achieved great success partnering with organizations to establish criteria, design a mentor program that best fits the needs of the organization, create materials to support the program, conduct mentor/mentee workshops and develop and implement metrics to evaluate the success of the program.
Benefits:
Here are some of the benefits your organization can achieve through a successful mentoring program:
Improved retention rates
Informal exchange of information within an organization
Development of junior professionals
Useful role models for women within the organization
Increased internal social capital
Strengthened management and leadership skills in those who act as mentors
Reenergized careers from the impact and influence achieved through participation in the program
Applicable education and experience that can be applied to business challenges

Have buy-in and support from senior management

Corporate EQ Mentor Program Process
Consultation
When Corporate EQ partners with your organization to create and implement a successful mentoring program, we start with consultation. During this process we will:
Consult with your organization’s mentor program committee to understand the climate and culture of the organization
Identify short and long-term goals
Consult with the committee on how the mentor program will be integrated and sustained
Establish appropriate time frames and schedules
Create a structured format for the mentoring process including guidelines, ethics and principles
Develop a train-the-trainer manual
Design a tracking system and regulatory methods
Develop individualized assessment formats for pre- and post-program measurements
Material Development
After agreeing the form and substance of the mentor program with the committee, Corporate EQ will develop appropriate program materials. These may include:
Profiles for mentor and mentees to be used in the selection and matching process
Workbooks for mentees that may include:
action planning sheets
exercises
tracking sheets
tip sheets
educational materials
additional resources
Workbooks for mentors that may include:
leadership development materials
tips for effective mentoring
progress sheets
dialogue guidelines for common challenges
additional resources
Educational Workshops
Corporate EQ will conduct separate modules for mentors and mentees. Each module addresses one area that can impact professional development and growth, such as:
Communication
Feedback
Coaching
Motivation
Evaluation
Each aspect of the mentoring program will be continually evaluated to assess the needs of the mentors and mentees and adjust accordingly. At the conclusion of the program, there will be an evaluation survey and the mentor program committee will receive a debriefing on the results of the survey and the success criteria of the program as a whole.
